![]() Selle Valley Construction, Inc. HistorySelle Valley Construction, Inc. was started by Scott Schriber in 2004. Scott, the son of a high school woodshop and drafting teacher, grew up around woodworking and worked in the construction trade since he was a teenager. Construction jobs helped financed his way through the University of Idaho, where he earned a B.S. in Wildlife Biology. Turned out, Scott missed the gratification of building and after a few years working as a fish and wildlife biologist in Oregon and Idaho, Scott returned to construction as a carpenter and project manager. Scott discovered Sandpoint while attending the University of Idaho and knew his wife Barbara would fall in love with the town as soon as she crossed the Long Bridge. He was right, and the two moved to Sandpoint in 2002. Scott was offered a job with a leading builder in town and encouraged Barbara to start her own business venture. In 2004 Barbara returned the favor, encouraging Scott to start his own construction company. In a short period of time, Selle Valley Construction, Inc. has earned a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and integrity. Scott believes it is imperative to keep abreast of improved building science, energy efficiency and overall home construction. He attends a number of National building conferences a year and takes at least 2 weeks annually of continuing education coursework in home construction and building science. Unlike some building contractors, Scott considers himself a carpenter first and prefers to be hands on and is usually on-site. This further enables Scott to know that the project is progressing smoothly, on schedule and on budget. Selle Valley Construction, Inc. is not a construction management firm – we are the builders. |
